The 556LW General Motors Pass lock interface
module is used when installing remote start products in GM vehicles equipped
with Pass lock and Pass lock II anti theft systems. The 556LW provides easy
interfacing while maintaining the integrity of the vehicles factory anti theft
system. The 556LW interfaces with the Pass lock system by providing the proper
Resistance Code (R code) at the appropriate time. The 556LW will also provide,
when necessary, a negative signal to the bulb check wire. The 556LW has no
effect on the Pass lock system when not in use. The factory Pass lock system will remain
fully functional.
The 556LW covers all 555LW
vehicle applications and includes a built in relay for compatibility with
Colorado, Cobalt, Canyon, and Ion.
