PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The 555FW interface module is used when installing remote start products in Ford, Toyota, and Lexus vehicles equipped with factory immobilizers. The 555FW allows for easy interfacing between the remote start and the factory immobilizer, while maintaining the integrity of the OEM system.
Transponder based anti theft systems use a very small electronic chip hidden inside the key to send a code to the vehicle's transceiver whenever the ignition is energized. For this to take place, the key must be placed in the ignition and turned to the RUN position. This energizes a coil surrounding the key, which in turn energizes the chip, which sends a code to the vehicle. If the vehicle does not detect the code being sent, the vehicle will start and then immediately shut off of will just crank, and the anti theft light will flash. The 555FW provides a valid code to the vehicle whenever it is remote started, but does not affect the immobilizer system during normal operation; the immobilizer system remains fully functional.

" 1998 and newer Ford vehicles require two separate keys when programming. Using the same key twice will not work.
" 1998 and newer Toyota and Lexus vehicles require the vehicle's Master Key when programming. Valet keys will not work.
